SURFIN SYSTEMS was founded in
1988 by Chris 'Bommy' Beacham with the introduction of the original
removable fin/insert system. Chris started surfing in 1957 and grew
up in the waves of Nth Avalon, Palm Beach and Whale Beach. After
fixing dings at school, he started full time in the Australian
Surfboard Industry in 1962, working with leading companies of the
'60s: incl Scott Dillon Surfboards, Dale Surfboards and Wallace
Surfboards in Brookvale Sydney, and a handful of other surf companies
in Australia, NZ and USA. From 1975-1985 Chris owned and managed the
Whale Beach Surf Shop. It was during this time that Chris started his
own label, Beacham Surfboards. Chris is now involved with fin system
design and shapes custom order surfboards.
